Worcester Racecourse is aiming to raise a record-breaking amount to support people living with cancer at its upcoming Macmillan Coffee Morning Raceday, which is being supported by Boots UK on Friday 28 September.
Over the last 4 years more than £20,000 has been raised for Macmillan Cancer Support at Worcester Racecourse, with £7,000 of that sum raised in 2017.
Supported by Boots colleagues, it’s hoping to build on this success and achieve a record sum on the 5th anniversary of the event, which is in support of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
This well-established fixture has become a firm favourite on the racing calendar, with a great value package available to racegoers inside the Parade Ring Marquee for £16.
This includes admission, coffee and a muffin, a Boots donated goody bag and a pampering session courtesy of the Boots team. The Racecourse donates £5 from every package sold, and there are bucket collections and raffles in aid of Macmillan around the racecourse throughout the day.
Executive Director of Worcester Racecourse, Jenny Cheshire said: “We thoroughly enjoy the Big Macmillan Coffee Morning Raceday each year, we have been thrilled with the generosity of our racegoers over the last 4 years and are excited to work with Boots again to hopefully raise a record sum for this wonderful charity. The Macmillan Package offers excellent value for money at just £16 so we hope to see the local community come out in force this September to help us achieve our target!”
Heather Elliott, Divisional Business Manager (Care Services South) for Boots, said: “Being told ‘you have cancer’ can affect so much more than your health – it can affect how you think and feel about yourself, so the work Macmillan does, and that we support them to do in the community has never been more important. We’ve been supporting Worcester Racecourse for several years now to run this charity event, and it’s amazing to see it grow every year with the support of the people of Worcestershire. We know that this will be our biggest year yet, and we have more No7 beauty advisors than ever to support and have loads of beauty goodies ready to give away.”
The charity package is on-sale now priced at £16 per person. There are a limited number of packages available in advance and will not be available on the day.
