Royal Equestrian Bedding has partnered with Hereford and Worcester Racecourses to launch their inaugural Frequent Runner Championships rewarding Trainers and Stablestaff that run horses most often at both racecourses.
The points based Championship sees races given a star rating, with the equivalent number of points awarded to Trainers per runner and accumulated throughout the season. Points will be awarded retrospectively for Worcester as their season is already underway, with scores updated online at www.worcester-racecourse.co.uk and www.hereford-racecourse.co.uk after each fixture.
Royal Equestrian Bedding are suppliers of high quality, highly absorbent, straw crushed pellet-based horse bedding that is quick and easy to use. The overall winner will receive 1,000kg of product at the end of the season, delivered direct to their racing yard, with the top five also receiving 500kg. On the final day of the season there will be a free prize draw where the top 10 finishing Trainers will be drawn at random with the winner receiving £1,000 cash for their stablestaff.
Richard Johnson, four times Champion Jockey and ARC Ambassador says: “Royal Equestrian Bedding is a great product and it’s good to see a new sponsor partnering with Hereford and Worcester Racecourses to reward Trainers and Stablestaff.”
Mark Ware, Chairman of Royal Equestrian Bedding, says: “It’s great to be working with Hereford and Worcester Racecourses and to be launching our fantastic new bedding product into the racing market. We know how hard stablestaff work, know that their mucking out will be made easier by our product and hope that one yard enjoys the £1,000 cash on offer at the end of the season.”
Rebecca Davies, Executive Director of Hereford & Worcester Racecourses, says: “I am thrilled to launch this new initiative in partnership with Royal Equestrian Bedding who are a forward thinking and dynamic new partner to racing. The aim is to encourage Trainers to run their horses at Hereford and Worcester Racecourses regularly, and for those that do reward them with a VIP day at the races at the end of the season, introduce them to a new equine bedding product and also give away £2,000 cash to stablestaff across both racecourses – there are no losers in this!”
